The Molecular and Supramolecular Mass Spectrometry group is directed by Prof. Carlos Afonso and has the mass spectrometers GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS at their disposal for the analysis of organic and bioorganic molecules. The stock of instruments was updated through Haute Normandy region and ERDF financing in 2010, when 4 new-generation pieces of equipment were installed (Synapt G2, HCT ultra ETD, Autoflex III Tof/Tof & LCT premier).
The team is very active in the development of methodologies for the characterization of materials and biomolecules by different methods of mass spectrometry, including ion-mobility mass spectrometry. This was recently illustrated by direct analyses without the need for solvents, as well as by the analysis of complex mixtures such as petroleum products or environmental samples.
The Molecular and Supramolecular Mass Spectrometry group is composed of 5 permanent members:
– Hélène Lavanant, Professor Assistant
– Corinne Loutelier-Bourhis, Professor Assistant
– Marie Hubert-Roux, Ingénieur de Recherche
– Albert Marcual, Ingénieur d’Etude CNRS
