BIOGRAPHY

Cédric Schneider received his Ph.D from the university Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in France in 2008 under the supervision of Pr. Peter Goekjian on the synthesis and functionalization of aza-heterocyles. After his Ph.D, he undertook postdoctoral research with Pr. Victor Snieckus at the Queen’s University, Kingston, working in the area of organometallic. Back to France, he joined the group led by Prof. Christophe Hoarau to work on the transition metal-catalysed direct C(sp2)−H functionalization of heterocycles. In September 2013, he was appointed as assistant professor (MCF) at IUT Rouen and joined the research group of Pr. Christophe Hoarau (Hétérocycles Team, COBRA Laboratory). His research interests encompass the development of new domino reaction involving C(sp2)/C(sp3)−H activation for the construction or construction/functionalization of heterocycles, and the design of novel oxidants as well as transmetallation agents for original C−H functionalizations.
